A group of archeologists led by Dr. Kathleen Martinez just discovered an underground tunnel that might be the tomb of Egypt’s last pharaoh.
The tunnel is 1.8 meters tall and 1,500 meters long! The tunnel was found under the mission area of the Temple of Tapozeries Magna. The tunnel is located under the city of Taposiris Manga.
The reason Cleopatra’s tomb was never found might be because when Cleopatra committed suicide, she hid her body from Rome.
Some people think Cleopatra’s tomb is in the secret tunnels underground. Other people think she has been buried in the town she grew up in and ruled for most of the time. Kathleen Martinez said, “if there is a one percent chance that the last queen of Egypt could be buried there, it is my duty to find her.
