New Vaccine Approved In Canada

By Andrew Chan

A new vaccine made by Moderna Inc., a company in Boston, has been approved for Canadians over the age of 18. Kids under 18 cannot take this vaccine because kids weren’t involved in the early testing stages, so it might be ineffective for kids. But, do not fret: later in November, the CEO of Modera, Stephane Bancel, said his company expected to start testing the vaccine on kids between the ages of 12 and 17 before the end of December. The new Coronavirus vaccine has been approved by Health Canada and is safe. Compared to the other vaccine, which is made by PFizer, they are relatively the same, except the new vaccine is easier to ship to remote areas, who will most likely get the vaccine first. Both the Modera and PFizer use similar types of technology. There will be about 168,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine before the end of December 2020.
