BTS is a K-Pop group that is famous around the world and has won Grammys and other awards for their music. But they have announced that they are taking a break from writing and performing.
There are seven members of the group: Frontman RM, Suga, and J-Hope are rappers. Jimin, Jin, V, and Jungkook are vocalists. The group decided to go on hiatus to grow and mature as adults and explore new activities and projects.
The team leader, RM, says "I always thought that BTS was different from other groups, but the problem with K-pop and the whole idol system is that they don't give you time to mature," Leaving the group to find out what they are the best at by themself is a great way to grow independently without the group holding you back.
Another reason that BTS taking a break is a good idea is that they have time to explore new activities and projects. Jin says "I have my own hobbies, too, and things I want to do on my own." In other words, everyone in the group needs a break to focus their mind before coming back together.
Some fans worry that the hiatus will be a permanent one. But BTS will come back together after exploring and learning about what they are capable of. They will be able to use that to make their music even better.
