My favorite video game character is, without a doubt, Link, from the Nintendo video game series Legend of Zelda. The three reasons why Link is my favorite video game character are his powers, the way he fights, and the items that he uses such as his sword, shield, bow, and glider.
Firstly, his abilities are a big reason why Link is my favorite video game character. His powers are marksmanship, swordsmanship, and runes. While using a bow, Link can see in slow motion and shoot rapidly because of it. This is very cool because when he is airborne he can take down multiple enemies at once. While using a sword, he can do a “flurry rush” which is a counterattack where you dodge an attack. Runes are abilities such as remote bombs, cryonisis, and magnesis.
Secondly, I admire the way Link fights. When he is in combat, it involves a lot of dodging, and swinging his sword. This makes it more engaging than having an overpowered sword that reaches anything in one swing.
The final reason why Link is my favorite character is because of his really cool items. These items include the sword, shield, bow, and glider. What makes these items interesting is that each of them has a backstory. You have to be worthy of the sword and pull it out of the heart of a forest. For the shield, it is a weapon gifted by the King of Hyrule. The bow can be constantly upgraded, and abilities get added to it as you progress and get stronger in the game. For the paraglider, you have to befriend someone so they give it to you.
