Wanted Woman Possibly Stole a Laptop from Pelosi’s Office

By Julia Xiao

On Sunday night, the FBI stated that a Pennsylvanian woman, Riley June Williams, may have stolen a laptop or hard drive from House speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office with the intent of selling information to Russia's foreign intelligence agency.

The previously mentioned woman is wanted by the FBI for charges related to the January 6th capitol breach. Now, the FBI is said to be investigating a claim that Williams had stolen a laptop or hard drive from the House Speaker’s office.

A witness, who claims to be a former romantic partner of Williams, has accused that Williams "intended to send the computer device to a friend in Russia, who then planned to sell the device to SVR, Russia's foreign intelligence service."

The FBI said that this matter still remains under investigation and there is no current conclusion yet.

On January 16, a British television crew had showed up at Williams’ home, hoping to interview her, but she was not present. The crew showed Williams’ mother several images taken in the U.S. Capitol on January 6th and she acknowledged that it was Williams in the image.

According to the Associated press, more than 125 people have been arrested so far in connection to the capitol breach incident.
