Should Halloween Be on a Saturday?

By Warren Feng

This year, Halloween is on a Saturday, but the dates of Halloween keep on changing, leading to many people debating on whether Halloween should be kept on the last Saturday of October. According to the Time for Kids article written by Priscilla L. Ho, “Kids would have more time to celebrate, and parents wouldn’t have to worry about their kids’ bedtimes or homework.” Even if halloween is magical because of when the tradition is, the kids may dread celebrating it, as it may be on a school night, bringing attention to bedtimes and homework. On top of this, celebrating Halloween on a Saturday can benefit parents, as there will be less cars due to less work. Also, when parents have this free time, they can stay with their children, allowing for parent supervision in order for kids to stay safe.
