By: Hanna Qian

Across all sports, the younger generations are closing in on beating the best. In the sport of racing, Oscar Piastri will be representing his country for F1. The young Aussie has signed to be with Grand Prix giant McLaren for the beginning of a great career to begin.

Piastri, who is only 21, is going into his childhood dream career at such a young age and says he wants to have a slow start. With his slow start he’ll be able to get used to everything and not get injured too. In a recent interview with Piastri it states, “My personality and the way I’ve been brought up by my family … I’m a pretty relaxed person, I would say.” Not only does Piastri want to be a calm person but he also doesn’t want to let his country down by starting off too fast at such a young age. fun while doing your best is what is amazing about doing sports.

In most sports, viewers have high expectations for all contestants. Most of the time when you’re racing with the professionals it’s sometimes hard to calm yourself down. Despite this, Piastri’s fellow racer Webber said Piastri had “a level of composure*’’ well beyond his years and was “just a down to earth, good young kid having a red hot crack”. When you stay calm and are stress-free that’s when your best performance is. No matter the age you can still be with the best.

Although Piastri might be younger than the others. If you don’t think about age and compare yourself to others, then you have a chance to be with the best.
