A girl of age 14 won the 2022 Scripps National Spelling Bee. This girl’s name is Harini Logan. Harini was born on May 9th in San Antonio, Texas, US. She developed a curiosity to take part in spelling bee competitions by watching the 2013 Scripps National Spelling Bee with her family. Finally, in the year 2022, she entered the spelling bee. According to the Sports Illustrated article, Harini Logan Wins First-Ever Scripps National Spelling Bee Tiebreaker, “Harini breezed into the finals against Vikram. They each spelled two words correctly. Then Scripps brought out the toughest words of the night. Both of the kids misspelled the words. Then Vikram missed again and Harini got the word right, putting her one word away from the championship. The next word she got wrong. Two more rounds, both misspelled the words, and the lightning round will start. Harini was faster and sharper throughout, and the judges’ confirmed her victory.”
After the exciting match with Vikram, Harini finally won the championship. We should follow Harini’s footsteps and challenge ourselves with competitions in the future.
