When the Russian-Ukraine war started, many men were enlisted to fight. Including a man named Yevgeny Chubarin. He decided to join the army to fight, even though his mother begged him not to for his safety. But he refused and instead went onto the battlefield, and sadly, just like his mother predicted, he was killed in battle the next day.
This story shows just how cruel this war is, and how many people are dying to fight for Russia. According to the CIA and the MI6, around 15,000 Russians have died during this war. Though many Russians knew it was dangerous, they risked their life for Russia.
Riots have started to happen due to many people being very angry because of their sons or husbands dying in war. One person expressed his rage on Twitter.
A woman said that this war needs to be stopped, too many young people are dying. Many agreed.
