The bright, warm sun rays
Beam through the window cracks,
Waking you up for another day
That was never guaranteed
The usual first sip of coffee,
of toast and eggs,
Relieve your hunger and thirst,
After a good night’s rest
The day goes by,
Second by second,
Minute by minute,
Hour by hour
The sun sets,
Leaving an array of colors,
And soon,
the blue hour comes
Night falls,
Not a single sound,
You drag yourself into bed,
For, hopefully, another day
