Cooper

By: Bryan Li

With a glistening golden coat,

Red collar around his throat,

Cooper emerges from his crate.

“It’s a new day!” he barks,

Hopping in the car and to the park,

Cooper makes new friends.

Driving back home in the backseat,

The window goes down and in comes the heat,

Cooper sticks his head out.

Jump out of the car and into the pool,

His head turns around and he starts to drool,

Cooper spies his meal.

Sprinting towards his delicious chow,

He doesn’t care about the cat that meows,

Cooper demolishes his food.

“Time for bed,” my parents said,

His head bows down and walks towards the bed,

“Goodnight, sweet boy,” I whisper.
