Brad Pitt is the Best Actor in the 21st Century
By: Brayden Yin
Brad Pitt is an actor who is widely known. His first role, in the 1991 film Thelma and Louise, left people wondering who he was. Years later, he is famous for being one of the greatest actors of all time.
Brad Pitt is celebrated for being a handsome “lady’s-man”-type actor. He was always in the tabloids while he was married to Jennifer Aniston, being half of the famous couple “Brad and Jen.” Then, when he was married to Angelina Jolie, their pairing was known as “Brangelina.” This gossipy side of Pitt’s life has possibly overshadowed something that many actors don’t have enough of, and that is a good work ethic.
Brad Pitt has been acting for three decades; his performances range over many different genres and include a great public-relations strategy. He is the quintessential actor who knows how to handle his career as a movie star. He recently starred in an action-comedy movie called Bullet Train. In this film, he plays a character with a silly codename, “Ladybug,” who is a hitman in a bucket-shaped hat. Pitt plays the character perfectly. Ladybug happens to be a hitman who can fend off assassins while balancing atop a speeding Japanese bullet train, steal briefcases full of cash, and who clearly needs anger-management classes. After violent encounters, Ladybug often earnestly spouts out self-help maxims along the lines of "Let this be a lesson in the toxicity of anger.” Watching Bullet Train gives viewers the impression that, not only is Pitt good at drama, but he is even better at comedy. In reality, he is best at drama with some dry humor mixed into it. He is so good at acting that he won a 2022 Oscar (for his best-supporting-actor role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), an award that is given only to actors who are believed to do especially well in their movies, which perfectly describes Brad Pitt, who is, in my opinion, the best actor in the 21st century.
