Amateur Metal Hunters Find 1,000-Year-Old Viking Coins In Denmark

By: Eli Chen

In late 2022, 3 explorers found multiple Viking coins from around the 900 C.E. The coins were separated about 50 meters apart. They were found in Denmark. The coins had Danish, Arab, and German origins.

These coins are worth around 100,000 dollars because there are hardly any Viking coins that exist. There are few Viking coins because the Vikings are no longer alive. The coins are rarer than a dodo bird.

The Vikings had many coins because they stole from villages. They attacked and seized all the loot villages had. When the Vikings invaded Denmark, many people thought that they were spreading Christianity because on coins they contained a cross which represents Christianity.
