A friend

I came across a long-forgotten memory.

A dear old friend I used to be close to

We haven't spoken in a very long time.

But the warmth eased my anxious concerns.

It was such a pain to lose touch.

Years pass, and you eventually drift away.

There might be hope out there.

But for now,

I don’t see any.

Life is a brand-new page that is turned every day.

Those connections that we forge are filled with care

Hold them close to your heart and keep them there.
