“A dream is a slippery thing”

A dream is a slippery thing -

That taunts you near the surface -

A flicker of fins,

and a shimmer of scales,

And it's gone;

It swims so swiftly - so free -

To catch it would be quite the feat -

You’ll build a boat,

And chase it down,

Through storm and sun and sea,

But years on the waves will tell you

few ever conquer this foe -

It dances between your nets -

forever out of reach.
